Quick Writes
This week we are going to work again on ‘Quick Writes.’ This is where you are given something to write about (a writing prompt) and you only have 10 mins to write as much as possible using this writing prompt.
Here are some of my quick writes
Can you imagine the tomatoes flying everywhere?
When you go home you will be covered in red juice and seeds.
The tomatoes smell rotten like a
te koriri(corny turd) or diarrhea .
When you walk into the tomato fight you are immediately covered in tomatoes.
You would be so exhausted after they day of bullfighting.
It would be so cold with all the tomatoes on you it would be like being in the freezer.
The Stormy Day
Ka taea e koe te whakaaro i nga ngaru ka pakaru i runga i te taiepa waipuke
(Can you imagine the waves crashing on the flood wall).
Or the rain smashing on the ground.
The wind blowing everything out of it's path.
The thunder and lightning cracking and smashing.
Or the ahi (fire) from the lightning burning all the trees and houses to dust.
Imagine being in that ngaru (storm) .
You would be swept away by the wind and struck by the lighting.
You would be a goner.
Looks like agent orange.
As I go in the bright cloud of orange I start to suffocate.
It was as heavy as one ton.
When I saw it I was blinded by all the colours.
It was as loud as gunfire from a terrorist.
It was like the smell of a volcano just about to erupt.

The Amazing Spooderman
Can you imagine all the people screaming and shouting.
All the Spooderman fans come to the parade.
You would be so squished with all the people there.
The crowd goes wild with all the confetti and balloons.
It would be so loud with everyone there and all the cars and buses.

I definitely believe that it is a really great thing to have pets. It is also good to have pets because it is like having a child and you can learn how to look after one.

Have you ever felt what it is like to have a pet? firstly, it is vital to have pets like a dog or cat because it can save time having to clean up everything. They will clean up any food that is dropped on the floor. It is also nice to give an animal a home to live in.
|
Secondly, it is also good to have pets because you can get food out of them like a chicken can lay eggs or some cows to get milk and with that milk you can make butter and cheese. some dogs can also hunt for food to.
| |
Furthermore, pets can be very important because they can sense things like cancer. dogs like bloodhounds can also be used for the police and the army. They can also help you if you have a disability.
| |
In conclusion, pets can be very important to people. they can also be very helpful like guarding you, bringing in the paper or cleaning up your mess. They can be good for disabilities and tracking things.
| |
Concluding statement
Summing it up. A summary of your arguments and your view on the topic.
|
In conclusion we need to fix our field because we don’t have enough room to play, we need our field for sports training and games, we need the field for events like the gala, and it promotes good health and exercise. It is vital that we have a good field at school.

Fix our mara
(field)
|
Overview/ Statement of position
A brief statement of your view about the topic. What you believe or want to argue.
|
I definitely believe we should fix our mara (field) right this instant! I think we should fix our field because we need it for lots of different things like playing, sports, special events, to have a non muddy field, tournaments, and all the important events like that. For these reasons I think we need to fix our field.
|
Series of Arguments
Reasons
Your points supporting your view about the topic. Your arguments to support your statement and information to support these arguments.
Remember
-argument
-supporting detail, reasons, examples
|
Firstly, We need our field to keep fit because it is very important for children to keep fit it also needs to get fixed because it was too muddy and we could not always use it.
|
Secondly, we need to fix our field because we need it for things like the gala or the hangi. We also need it because it can hurt people's feet and some people don't like the court and playground.
| |
Thirdly, We need it to run around and play things like Rippa Rugby. Also we are crowded into half of the the school.
| |
Concluding statement
Summing it up. A summary of your arguments and your view on the topic.
|
In conclusion, we need to fix our field so we can train, and so we can have special events. We also need to fix our mara (field) so it is not so muddy and to do all the important things you need to do on a field! These are the reasons I think we should fix our field.
