nelson mandela

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela lived in South Africa. Nelson Mandela fought against apartheid and
segregation. Nelson Mandela was against White Supremacists.

Apartheid is a race that is against another race. Segregation is when different races are
separated from different races because of their skin colour. 69 people peacefully
protesting for equal rights in South Africa were killed by the police and that was called
the Sharpeville massacre.

Sometimes change happens in secret. People were going to put Nelson Mandela in jail
because he was standing against what most white South Africans believed and they
wanted to have equal rights.

Nelson Mandela believed that different races could live together and accept each other.
Nelson mandela proved that he was not racist by saying anc was not anti white but they
were against white supremacy. White supremacy is when white people get better rights
than black people and other cultures.

In conclusion I think how this affects us today is different races get to live together and
learn about each other's cultures.

mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi

Gandhi made justice happen in his life when he stopped most of the Indians
from getting their fingerprints put in ink

An eye for a eye ends up making the whole world blind. This means that if we
keep fighting it wood never stop I think that this is a true statement.
Or what I think usually after someone gets revenge then the other person
doesn't get revenge again.

Mahatma Gandhi was born in India in 1869 and was assassinated in 1948.
Mahatma Gandhi was peacefully walking down the street when he was
gunned down by a radical Hindu.

The British government banned the Indians from gathering salt and made the
Indians pay tax for salt so when they brought salt they had to pay for tax as well.

I think Mahatma Gandhi did a good thing fighting for equal rights because
everybody should have equal rights.
